“Some of the best years of life are spent as a child and later our scholastic years…” As adults in a fast-paced society, we sometimes forget just how precious and brief those years are.”
Our Mission:
At Kingdom Kids Childcare, we believe in the value and uniqueness of each child we serve. Our childcare experience is designed to promote each child’s own individual social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. As caregivers and educators, our mission is to provide a safe and developmentally appropriate learning environment, which fosters a child’s natural desire to explore, discover, create, and become a lifelong learner.
Our Vision:
Our program has a strong commitment to provide premium quality childcare including accessibility and diversity. We exist to attract and maintain client families with an open-door policy. It embraces all who desire to provide a better quality of care, preparedness and education for their children.
It is built around the concept that children are born ready to learn. As caregivers, we strive to create a learning environment that is safe, stimulating and encouraging. The following principles are excerpted from the Iowa Early Learning Standards (2019) and serve as the foundation for our curriculum.
- Children develop knowledge of their world through active interactions with caregivers, peers, materials, and events.
- Learning is sequential, building on prior understandings and experiences.
- Learning proceeds at different rates in each area and each child; children will show a range of skills and understandings in any one area of development.
- Learning in each area is interconnected. Young children learn best through experiences, which incorporate several areas of development.
- Learning is embedded in a culture. Children learn best when their learning activities are rooted in a familiar cultural context.
- Learning begins in the family, continues in early care and education settings, and depends on parent involvement and caregiver guidance.
- All children have the potential to achieve the Iowa Learning Standards with appropriate supports and instruction.
Kingdom Kids provides care for children ages 12 months through 10 years old. Learn more about our Infant, Toddler, Preschool, PreK, and School Age programs by visiting our Programs by Age page. We offer quality care and education 52 weeks of the year where - Our Kingdom Love Our Kids!
Sir & Fayth (Kingdom Kids mascots) are a Knight and a Knight Maiden. Knights are often associated with friendship, generosity, mercy, faith, courage and strength. These are traits that we value at Kingdom Kids. A knight is noble – and at Kingdom Kids we always remember to honor our children and families first. Keep an eye out for our Knight, Knight Maiden and Kingdom Kids – they will be featured in their own books about several topics that children infant to school age children face. Our Welcome and Farewell books will embody being the new kid in the kingdom and children graduating, and moving on to kindergarten!
At Kingdom Kids, we are committed to addressing the needs of working parents. Our learning centers offer nutritious breakfast, lunch, and snack so that parents do not need to worry about packing meals for their children. Laundry is washed on a weekly basis to ensure children have a clean, sanitary surface for their rest times. We are proud to offer the use of the Brightwheel App to improve parent communication. This program keeps parents connected to their children with daily updates and photos that are sent through this app. Parents need a place where they can feel that their child is safe, secure, and receiving quality education and we ensure that parents can rely on us for this need.
Our Team:
Our center is managed by an early education administrator, referred to as a Director, as well as a Site Supervisor. Each classroom has a Lead Teacher who is responsible for lesson planning, curriculum, assessments, parent-teacher communication, and creating a safe, healthy, structured and nurturing environment. Teacher Assistants in each classroom help to supervise and interact with children to facilitate their play and learning. Classroom curriculum is overseen by the Director who supports teachers in developing, implementing, and coordinating developmentally appropriate lesson plans.
Children thrive when their teachers are deeply interested and committed to them. Our teachers enjoy working with children and parents to create a warm and consistent environment. We have carefully selected our team, not only because of their knowledge and experience in the field of early childhood and school age education, but also because their personal educational philosophy and teaching style is compatible with our approach. Each staff member meets or exceeds the qualifications set by state laws and completes a full onboarding program when they begin their career here at Kingdom Kids. There is a specific amount of required training per year that will keep employees brushed on the skills to meet the daily needs of the children in our care. Each staff member undergoes a background and criminal check that they need to pass per DHS regulation.
Kingdom Kids recognizes that learning is a life-long process for children, as well as adults. Our teachers are offered continual opportunities throughout their employment to further their education and improve their teaching skills.
